Term 1 and 2 Podcast

This is our podcast about term 1 and 2.

Connors banana cake recipe

Banana Cake
Ingrediants:

125g butter, softened

3/4 cup sugar

2 eggs

2 cups mashed ripe bananas

1 t baking powder

2 T hot milk

2 cups standard plain flour

1 t baking powder


Method:

1. Cream butterand sugar untill light and fluffy.

2. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3. Add mashed banana and mix throughly.

4. Stir baking soda into hot milk and add to creamed mixture.

5. Sift flour and baking powder and fold into mixture.

6. Turn into a greased and lined 20 cm round cake tin.

7. Bake at 180 degrees for 50 minutes or untill cake springs back when lightly touched.

8. Leave in tin for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack and when cold ice the cake.

Who killed the electric car
1. What problem does the use of the electric car solve ?

The electric car is an eco car meaning it is good for the enviorment. It has no exhaustion meaning the gases from the car don't come
out. Instead it runs it runs on electricity and does not effect our enviorment. Also this awesome car does not effect animals, plants
people.

2. Who will benefit from the electric car ?

I think that most people will benefit from the electric car as it is good for the enviroment and does not have any car exhaustion.
Therefore animals and humans will not have to breathe in the horrible fumes.
3. What problems are caused by the electric car ?

I don't think there are many problems with the electric car. But one bad thing is that the goverment has to spend money to build the
electric stations which charge your car. Also they wouldn't get much money from the electric car costs a lot of money
meaning that
not many people can buy these cars and only actors and really rich people can buy these cars
4. Who killed the electric car ?

I think that the electric car was a good invention, But I guess Californa didn't think so for so long. Californa killed the electric car
around 2003. The electric car was a new car that ran from the electric cord and that is how it's charged. These cars were more
expensive than the normal car that that most people drive these days. Each car would have gotten you about 80 miles and then you
would have to charge it again. If people were going to drive quite far like for a holiday, there would be a charging station where you
would charge up your car.Those cars were very expensive and not many people could buy them. Only people who were actors, singers
and really rich people could buy these cars. No exhaustion came out of this car which is very good for the enviroment. This means that
animals such as birds that create their nests on the side of a motorway would not have to breathe in these fumes from a normal car
It was not soon after they came out that there was an argument about the electric car. Some people wanted all the electric car to go.
Eventually those people were succesful and all the electric cars in Californa were to be crushed and turned into a million pieces. There
was only one car left in the whole of Californa. Sadly they were not able to keep the electric car very long. I think that they should have
kept the electric car so there was a lower chance of stuff like global warming going to happen. Also they should have lowed the prices
and encouraged people to buy these cars. The world would be a better place if everybody had an electric car. Which is why I think the
answer to this question is the Californa government.

this is my recount on camp that we have been working on in rm28

 My adventures at camp

 

I can smell the salty ocean sitting on the edge of the ferry.  Every one around me is excited. Rm 28 and syndicate D are on a ferry heading to Motutapu camp at around 9:00am. The reason why we are going to camp is for all the experiences and opportunity's. We will be doing lots of fun activity's like high ropes, survivour and many more.

 

Once we hoped off the ferry we got into our groups. I was in 28c and our group parent was Mr Peterson who is Andrews dad. We head off to start the 6.5 km walk to the camp. No one wanted to do the walk I think except for Mr Crowhurst who led every one there and some of the parents. 

 

When we got there every one wanted to look around but instead we started our activity's First we went to orienteering and it was kinda boring. After orienteering we had sailing and that was fun. That was a great first day of camp, and after that we had nachos for dinner and went to our night time activity which was spotlight. Once that finished we had supper but I forgot my mug. I asked a teacher if I could use a spare one and she said yes, but then a dad came out and said “ who was the little boy with out a mug so I put my hand up. So did Jerry and he got the mug. 

I had a good nights sleep and woke up ready for day 2. We had our breakfast and I had cereal. After that we all sat on the stairs and moved on to our first activity which was raft building. Our boat sank because Jerry broke the main part of it. Once that was over we had some morning tea and then moved on to rock climbing. I climbed to the top of 2 and I had lots of fun but then sadly the bell rang and it was lunch. For lunch we had sandwiches but I only had a slice of bread with peanut butter on it. Our next activity was confidence course. Kim's mum was in charge of that and we had to work together as a team. I think that our team bet the other team because we bet there time. We went to the boat shed   for kayaking. I hated having to put on the saturated wet suit that was like ice stuck to your skin. Kayaking was fun how we got to play soccer in the water with our paddles.

 

Dinner that night was sticky chicken with potatoes. It was delicious. That day there were some fake murders because it is a game that the teachers did with us and we had to figure out who the murderer was. Our night time activity was the Burma trail. Some people were afraid of it and it was fun. When we went to bed we all had our heads up but then Miss Mudford  came in and we slammed our head on the pillow.

 

It was day 3 and we had the funnest activity's today but first we had breakfast , I had cereal again and as usual we went to our first activity which was high ropes. I found high ropes easy and could do push ups and all sorts. Then we went on to the gun walk which was cool to see all the guns but it was a tiring walk, for lunch we had hotdog's  and then went to archery. I wasn't that good at archery but I was alright. For the last and final activity we had survivor. Survivor was cool because we got to jump and roll in the mud. Dinner was spaghetti bolonagse and dessert was jelly and ice cream. Still the murders went on and no one knew who it was.

 

Our night time activity was hall games. That is where you play games in the hall like rat and cat and chinese wall. We went to bed and we had our electives for the last full day. I chose frisby golf, movie and beach bum. For frisby golf my team had Keanu, Dion, Fergus, Mitch and me. Our group won. Dion, Keanu and I then went to the movie and we watched Alvin and the chipmunks. After that was beach bum and I built a dam with sam and some other kids.

 

When that was over we had a delicious roast with kumras peeled by my group, potatoes, peas, corn and gravy. That night was the night of the camp concert. It was so funny and Motutapu idol won. We went to bed and in the morning packed our bags.

 

We said our last good bye to camp Motutapu and left for the 6.5 km walk. We got on the ferry and waved to Motutapu island. On the shore we could see heaps of parents waiting for there kids. That was the best camp ever.

Report on cruelty to animals

Every day at least 10 animals die from starvation, dehydration and abusing animals.

Hunting has brought many animals to a near extinction from hunting them every day, sometimes they bring their kids along to hunt the animals as well so when they are older they will teach their kids and will carry on going.

These people hunt for food, clothing, medicines and much more, this is one of the reasons they are endangered.

What the SPCA expects people to give their pets are food, water and shelter for when it gets really hot or rains. If these people do not give these items to their pet then they should not have a pet.

The SPCA is angry at the goverment because they think they are not giving the animal abuser more time in jail and are not taking it as seriously as they could be.

This has already brought many animals to their extinction like the Dodo, the javan tiger and the baiji river dolphin. But this is not all the animals gone extinct.

The people who are trying to stop owners abusing their pets or hunting animals are the SPCA and also the police. They arrest these criminals but sadly do not put them in long enough

So lots of animals will join these extinct animals soon if someone does not stop it. So if you know someone who is hurting these animals, please stop them.
